| Description: | Chi Gung teacher, Bruce Frantzis, 60th Birthday Gift. The central turtle represents longevity. At its center is a Tai Chi symbol within a hexagram; the hexagram and turtle are done in copper, which is the metal for the Ox, Bruce’s Chinese birth animal. Around the hexagram are yellow spirals, representing the spiraling movement of energy. They are in yellow, as Bruce is an Earth Ox and yellow is the color for the Earth element.
Going in a clockwise order from the top, the first symbol is the Chinese glyph for longevity and is a pottery shard we bought back from China.
The next glyph represents the Ox and is done in blue, which is ox’s color.
The bottom of the wall hanging is reminiscent of water, in keeping with Bruce’s teachings of the water method of Lao Tze.
The next symbol is Taurus, Bruce’s Western birth sign, which illuminates his roll as a bridge between the East and the West.
The plaque with the word “inspire” is what Bruce has done for us, and countless others.
Finally is our gift of a lucky coin, both for good fortune and wealth, wishes we send at the commencement of his second 60 year cycle. |
